The following is a collection of UNSOLICITED feedback TRP has received
regarding our disc. If you would like to make a comment please send
to info@TheRochesterProject.org.
From a fan who attended a TRP LIVE! concert:
What a Delight ! ! !
We really enjoyed the evening. I had a blast watching each praiser
(instead of performer)...it was specially fun to hear some of the
cool guitar effects...you truly are blessed with the talents God
has given you. You sure make it look easy and have a lot of doing
it...I had my eyes and ears on your drummer, too. Its neat to see
him jammin' on plastic, rubber, vinyl, or whatever and hearing crashing
cymbals and snappy snares...It's cool to see the right foot kickin'
the "imaginary" bass drum too...Everything was super well
done and composed with a lot of creativity.
I was looking forward to coming up afterward the whole time, but
I didn't see any access to your stage from the bleachers. Lame!
! ! was my repeated, disappointed expression.
God bless you and your writing - keep writing for Him!
"...VERY IMPRESSIVE and Professionally done from recording
to production! Great music. Great songs. I didn't know they were
all originals! It must be a pleasure to work with that group.
I would like to order 2 more CDs, if possible. One for our Music
Director and one for our leader of our praise group..."
-Houston, TX
"...as I'm writing to you I am listening to THE ROCHESTER
PROJECT -----YOURS. I love this disc. My favorite song at this time
is " Where U R " I love the music and the words are so
true. The lead
singer's voice is incredible. Some day in heaven I'm going to be
able to sing like that!!! I can't wait. I am glad that the "
inspiration " for each song is included with the song lyrics.
It makes the song more real knowing what Jeffry was thinking as
God gave these songs to him. O.K. now I'm listening to "YOURS"
maybe this is my favorite song --"I know you love your son
as much as I love mine" ---powerful words that I can really
relate to...Well by now I'm sure that you can see how much I really
do love this disc, when you start touring PLEASE come to the little
town of Lititz PA."
The CD is beautiful! Your group truly has a gift from God and thank
you for sharing it with us. I thought I would be biased since Mollie
is my niece, but it really is great and I listen to it all the time
and am passing it around to friends and co-workers!
Bless You!
"The craziest thing happened this weekend. My husband was at church
Thursday discussing a project he was doing for Habitat for Humanity.
His friend told him about this great CD that was out. He explained
that a local music group had put together this CD and the proceeds
were going to Habitat for Humanity. My husband was then on a mission
to find it this weekend because he heard the group was very talented
and he also plays for a group at our church. We were in line at
Best Buy on Saturday and there was a display of the CDs on the counter!
I picked one up and flipped it over to read the song titles and
I saw your name. I then yelled (literally- people were staring!)
"That's my student's dad!". I was so excited!!...I was even more
excited when we got home and listened to it. The music is absolutely
beautiful! It has earned a home in our CD player alarm clock. It
puts us to sleep at night and wakes us up in the morning. My husband
bought copies for everyone in his group at Christmas. My favorite
song is "3C's Lullaby", probably because its the first song ever
written for one of my students...I wanted to thank you for sharing
your gift and helping a group that is important to us".
"On my behalf would you express my very positive response to hearing
the new CD from "The Rochester Project". I had a chance to hear
it while traveling up North with my daughter. So, I was able to
read long the lyrics while listening to the CD. I am amazed at the
creativity of this group. When is your next CD? Also I really enjoyed
reading your bios. I found them all very informative and know a
little bit more about each of you after reading them. What a wonderful
way to reach out to Rochester in a novel way. I agree that these
will make excellent gifts to relatives and friends for Christmas.
Wouldn't it be great if you are all sold out by then? Keep up the
good work you are all doing and know that you all make a huge difference
even though it may not seem like that at times. You are doing the
most important work there is to do, spreading the gospel to all
the ends of the earth."
"This album has quickly become my favorite. The new songs
and the untainted message are as uplifting as they could possibly
be. Simply AWESOME. Hopefully there is more where this came from.
I can't wait."
"I don't know why but in the last few days I have really gotten
into your CD. In fact it is blasting presently as I work in the
office . . . There is some great stuff on it. What a blessing you
must be to those that
get to worship with you regularly!
There are a few songs I can hear our group singing. Is the music
published and available?
I just ordered 2 more copies from amazon.com."
"From the opening chords to the CD's final refrain, I loved it.
The music is really outstanding, you can just feel the love the group
put into this album. But for me it was the lyrics, the message they
give. How many albums can you point your children to not only for
the good music composition but for the message the songs give as well.
Yes, I have listened to this album more than a few times all ready
and I find the words running through my mind when I wake in the morning
and during any quiet times during the day. Thank you Rochester Project,
more please".
"IT'S AMAZING, TERRIFIC, WONDERFUL, LOVE IT!!!! PRAISE THE
LORD.....NEXT YOU'LL BE ON DAVID LETTERMAN AND BE GETTING A DOVE
AWARD!!!"
"The CD is awesome! I've got one being passed around here
at work this week. I can't decide which song is my favorite - it's
either 'Where UR' or 'The Path'. TRP should be very proud!"
"I have lost count of how many times I have listened to my
CD both in my office at home and in my van. I have only one complaint
--it's too short! Whenever it ends, I keep hoping for 2 or 3 more
songs to come on. The music and lyrics have touched my heart. The
Lord will surely do a great work through the talents with which
He has blessed the members of TRP. One of the CD's I purchased will
be going to a friend in England and another will go to Bethel College.
I will be interesting to see how far your music will reach."
"Congratulations on the new CD! I hope the feature piece
in the Post-Bulletin brings 'The Rochester Project' many CD orders
and ultimately brings in donations for the Rochester Area Habitat
for Humanity. I like reading such positive things about my neighbors."
"I had to write you a letter and tell you the blessing I have
received from your music. Since my divorce I have struggled greatly
with this failure in my life and in my walk with Christ. I had felt
for so long that this would separate me somehow from God's blessings
making me less of a Christian.
I know God's grace is all encompassing and forgiving but the devil
kept me feeling that I was not worthy and unable to keep a fulfilling
relationship with another Christian brother or sister because I
felt less than them. Your song 'Where U R' opened my eyes to the
closet that I had been living in and hiding my shame, but God had
already forgiven me of this and released me from my own guilt even
though I could not see it. I just wanted you to know the blessing
your music has already made in people's lives around you. I heard
your song and it opened my heart and eyes to the lies, I prayed
and the shame went away. Instant relief and such a weight has been
lifted off my heart through this. Keep following that call you are
truly blessed in his gift the Lord has given to you. I pray that
the Lord builds thousands of homes with the music from your heart
and his spirit.......Once again, thank you for following the spirit
and for helping me climb out of my closet. It helped me to learn
that even the eyes of a faithful servant can sometimes become too
foggy to see through."
"Kathy and I were able to have breakfast with Millard and
Linda Fuller (founders of Habitat for Humanity) on Saturday in Oshkosh.
We presented them with a copy of the CD and told them of the partnership.
On Saturday evening, Linda Fuller told me she had already listened
to some of the CD and had enjoyed it".- Trent Fluegel, Executive
Director, Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity.
"...the CDs I brought to work are flying like hotcakes. I
gave some away and now people are starting to ask me where they
can get one! I had one more request right after returning to my
office now. A co-worker has pre-paid me for one! It's an excellent
medium to be able to share. May God continue to bless you and the
group's efforts..."
"I listened to your CD for quite a while today while I was
preparing supper. It is wonderful and so filled with love for Jesus.
I think you were all being 'guided' as the music and words were
written and sung, and the entire CD was being put together. I think
God has a plan for you all, and Yours is just the beginning."
Letters published in Rochester Post-Bulletin, September-October
2000:
"A gift with a purpose: The Rochester Project, a group of
eight gospel musicians, has just recorded an original pop/gospel
compact disc called "YOURS", with profits going to the
Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity.
The CD's release is Oct. 2, and it can be purchased at Best Buy,
Sam Goody, Christian Book & Gift Shop, and on-line at Amazon.com.
I commend the group, led by Dr. Jim Maher, for its creativeness
in helping a worthy organization, and in bringing pop/gospel music
to the ears of many new listeners. This is truly a gift-giving idea
with a purpose"
- Bob Dahlstrom
"CD benefits Habitat for Humanity: Rochester Area Habitat
for Humanity has a new alliance with 'The Rochester Project.' This
is a group of eight talented pop and gospel musicians representing
several different area churches.
They have been working for more than a year to release their first
CD of original music entitled "YOURS." All proceeds from
this CD will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, and it is available
at Best Buy, Sam Goody, Christian Book & Gift Shop and online
at Amazon.com.
We would encourage you to experience this great music, and by so
doing, support a worthwhile organization, Habitat for Humanity.
We know the musicians from 'The Rochester Project' and commend them
for this donation of time and talent to our community. They set
a tremendous example for us by using their faith and beliefs to
make Rochester a better place..."
-John and Lynn Mulder
"Rochester Project Appreciative: On behalf of the staff,
volunteers, and partner families of Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity,
I would like to extend a deep and sincere thank you to the musicians
and others involved in The Rochester Project.
Jim Maher, Jeffry Swertfeger, Mollie Pellegrino, Sheryl Brown,
Kris Davis, Sarah Manthei, Mick Nichols, and April Rowe have chosen
a unique way to share both their musical gifts and the gospel message
of redemption through Christ with the community. This timeless message
is delivered in a fresh, upbeat and musically pleasing package with
their new CD titled 'YOURS'.
Swertfeger's lyrics include the words 'Seek out those who have
not heard, and take my words to all the world.' The Rochester Project
has found a faithful way to do just that.
The proceeds from the sale of this CD will benefit Rochester Area
Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers are currently working on Habitat
houses 20, 21, and 22 and hope to break ground on house 23 (the
Faith in Action house) soon. In is only through the generous local
support of groups and individuals that Habitat is able to meet our
mission of working in partnership with people in need to build simple,
decent affordable housing.
I encourage you to patronize our local retailers and ask for a
copy of 'YOURS'. In fact, I encourage you to buy two copies and
share one with a friend or family member at Christmas"
